Applying to GO

Student Eligibility

To be eligible for the GO Project, students must:

  • Attend a New York City Public School. 
  • Demonstrate that they are in need of additional academic support.
  • Be enrolled in Kindergarten, First, Second, or Third grade (New students are NOT accepted after the Third grade).
  • Commit to active and consistent participation in both the five-week summer program, GO Summer, in July and August, and Saturday morning program, GO School, from October through May (students have the opportunity to stay with GO Project through the summer following their 8th grade school year).
  • Preference is given to families with financial need.

The following documents are mandatory in order to be considered by the GO Project

  1. The GO Student Application Form (completed by parents/guardian).
  2. Teacher Evaluation Form (completed digitally by the child’s public school teacher).
  3. Copy of the student’s most recent school report card (submitted by either parent/guardian OR school) - please note that it is an ongoing expectation to provide updated progress reports and IEPs while participating in GO Project.
  4. Copy of the student's most recent Individualized Education Plan (IEP), if applicable.
  5. Copy of the student's Promotion in Doubt letter received from their public school, if applicable.
  6. Student Physical (during GO Summer).
